Welcome to my website! I am so pleased you are here inquiring more about postpartum doula services. I would love to provide support to you and your family as you make this journey. My name is Alba and I was born and raised in Brazil. I moved to the United States 20 years ago, and truly say that this is my home. My Brazilian roots are still strong though, including my warm and friendly disposition. I began my career as a nanny, taking care of many sweet families, and then decided to specialize in the postpartum period by certifying as a postpartum doula (DONA International) 9 years ago. During these years I have learned so much, not only from my trainings and certifications, but also, and mostly, from the families who gave me the opportunity and trust to open their homes and hearts to me. I am grateful for the opportunity to be by their side and guide them into parenthood.

 

My educational and professional background is diverse. I have a BA in liberal arts from a Brazilian university, and I have training and certifications in the following: Certified Infant Massage Instructor (CIMI), Certified Newborn Care Specialist (CNSA), Trained in RIE I & II (Resources for Infant Educarers by Marta Gerber), Certified Breastfeeding Peer Counselor (WIC), Certified Lactation Educator (UCSD), Sacred Postpartum Certified Mother Roaster (Sacred Pregnancy Program--specializing in belly binding).
